The First Felt Bicycles

Jim Felt, a skilled motocross mechanic, designed and built the first Felt bike frames – trial-triathlon frames – in 1990.

The bicycle frames were constructed for the motocross star Johnny O’Mara, who used triathlon training as a way to stay in peak physical condition.

They were FAST and Felt started gaining a reputation for knowing how to build a bike for SPEED.

His bikes were such a success that Jim Felt was headhunted by Easton Sports as a product engineer for their newly established bicycle division.

In 1994 Jim Felt left Eastern Sports and joined forces with a company called Answer Products to launch his own brand of bicycle.
The partnership lasted for seven years and then was dissolved.jim felt bikes

The Felt Bike reemerged in 2001 when Jim Felt established an independent company with Michael Mullmann and Bill Duehring.
Together they re-launched the Felt Bicycles brand as a global company.

Duehring and Mullmann decided to expand their range of models and branched out into new markets …

As Well As Producing Prestigious Road & Triathlon Bicycles, Felt Bikes Began To Make A Selection Of:

  • cyclocrossfelt bike badge
  • road and tri bikes
  • BMX

  • mountain bikes
  • fixed-gear
